Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
We deliver construction materials across the UK and to selected European destinations. This policy explains how we ship, what it costs, how long it takes, and how to handle deliveries safely on site.
1. Where we ship
- Mainland UK — England, Wales, mainland Scotland (some highland and remote postcodes may incur a surcharge or extended lead time — shown at checkout)
- Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands — available with surcharge, calculated at checkout
- Republic of Ireland — palletised orders only, calculated at checkout
- Selected European destinations — quoted on request for trade orders
If your delivery address isn't covered at checkout, contact us at info@screedworks.co.uk for a custom quote.
2. Delivery options and lead times
- Standard parcel (small items, tools, accessories): 2–3 working days, tracked courier
- Bagged materials — single bag / small order: 2–4 working days, tracked courier
- Pallet delivery — UK mainland: 3–5 working days, kerbside delivery, tail-lift
- Same-week pallet — selected postcodes: 1–2 working days, surcharge applies, available at checkout
- Trade and contract orders (multi-pallet): 5–10 working days, booked direct, agreed lead time
Lead times are working days (Mon–Fri, excluding bank holidays), counted from the next working day after the order is placed.
We aim to dispatch in-stock orders the same working day if placed before 12:00 (Mon–Fri). Some specialist or made-to-order products (e.g. coloured resin systems) have manufacturer lead times shown on the product page.
3. Shipping costs
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on:
- Weight and number of pallets / parcels
- Destination postcode
- Service level chosen
Pallet deliveries are kerbside as standard. If you need a HIAB / crane offload, timed delivery, or specific access arrangements (e.g. site delivery, scaffolded site, restricted access), please contact us before ordering — extra charges may apply.
Free shipping promotions, where offered, apply only to standard mainland UK kerbside delivery.
4. Delivery requirements
For palletised deliveries the customer must:
- Provide a safe, accessible drop-off point reachable by a 7.5–18 tonne tail-lift vehicle
- Be present at the delivery address to sign and inspect the pallet
- Provide adequate access — failed deliveries due to access restrictions may incur a re-delivery charge of £45–£95 depending on courier
For site deliveries please give clear site contact details, gate codes and any restrictions at checkout or by email before dispatch.
5. On delivery — please check
- Inspect the pallet or parcel before signing
- If outer packaging is visibly damaged, sign as "damaged" with the courier and photograph everything before opening
- Notify us within 48 hours of any damaged, missing or incorrect items: info@screedworks.co.uk + your order number + photos
- Retain all packaging until any claim is resolved
This is the simplest way to make sure damage claims are handled quickly under our Refund Policy.
6. Delays
We work with established UK couriers and pallet networks but occasionally external factors (weather, courier capacity, manufacturer stock issues) can cause delays. If your order is going to be late we will contact you with a revised ETA.
For time-critical site deliveries, please email info@screedworks.co.uk before placing the order so we can confirm a workable timeline.
7. Failed deliveries / refused deliveries
- If you refuse a correctly delivered order, return shipping is the customer's responsibility and a restocking fee may apply (see Refund Policy).
- If a delivery fails because the address details are incorrect or no one is available to accept the goods, the courier will leave a card. Re-delivery charges may apply on the second attempt.
8. International orders
For Ireland and EU destinations:
- Customs duties, import VAT and clearance fees may apply at the destination — these are the responsibility of the customer.
- Lead times vary depending on the destination and customs.
9. Trade accounts
Trade and account customers placing scheduled deliveries should arrange these with our trade team direct on info@screedworks.co.uk or 0118 370 2060.
