Product Description
RHINOPLAST Super Gas Barrier is a high-performance polyethylene membrane providing combined damp-proof and gas-resistant protection for ground-floor constructions. It acts as both a DPM and a barrier against methane and carbon dioxide ingress, meeting the requirements of BS 8485 and CIRIA C665 for developments on sites affected by ground gas. Supplied in 4 m × 20 m rolls (80 m²).
Key Benefits
Application
Lay the membrane over the prepared sub-base or blinding layer with a minimum 300 mm overlap at all joints. Seal all overlaps with double-sided gas-resistant tape. Turn up at perimeters and seal to the rising walls. Take care to avoid puncturing the membrane during installation. Protect with a sand blinding layer or screed as soon as practicable. Ensure all penetrations are sealed with compatible gas-tight detailing.
Coverage
Each roll covers 80 m² (4 m × 20 m). Allow approximately 10–15% extra for overlaps and wastage depending on floor plan complexity.
