Product Description
A 500-gauge (125 µm) black polythene vapour control layer for use as a slip membrane and moisture separator beneath floating screeds and insulation. It prevents moisture migration from the sub-base into the screed while allowing the screed to move independently of the substrate, reducing the risk of cracking.
Key Benefits
Application
Lay the polythene sheet across the entire floor area with a minimum 200 mm overlap at all joints. Turn up at walls and columns to at least screed height. No taping of laps is required when used as a slip membrane only. Ensure the surface beneath is clean and free of sharp objects that could puncture the membrane.
Coverage
Each roll covers 200 m² (4 m × 50 m). Allow for 200 mm overlaps at all joints when calculating quantities. For typical rooms, allow approximately 5–10% additional material for overlaps and waste.
