Ronacrete Standard Primer is a pre-bagged cementitious bonding primer made of polymer liquid and specially graded cements. It gives a chemical bond between the substrate and new surfacing, and is only for use with Ronacrete's mortars and concretes, including Ronafix Pre-packed Screeds, RonaBond HB40, RonaBond HB25, RonaBond Concrete Repair Mortar and RonaBond Bedding Mortar.

Application

Mechanically prepare the substrate in line with BS 8204-3 so it is sound and clean, then damp the surface with clean water (do not damp reinforcing steel). Mix with a drill and paddle to a creamy slurry and apply evenly by brush or roller, avoiding ponding. Only prime an area you can cover with mortar or concrete within the primer's working time. Place the mortar onto the wet or tacky primer; if the primer dries it must be scratched and reapplied. On concrete repairs, apply two coats to dry reinforcing steel and one coat to the damp concrete. When bedding bricks, brick slips, kerbs or paviours, prime both the back of the unit and the substrate. Follow the datasheet for the mortar being applied as well. Coverage

A 2 kg pack covers approx. 3–4 m² per coat; a 10 kg pack covers approx. 15–20 m² per coat.
