RonaFloor Epoxy Primer MT is a moisture tolerant, two-pack, solvent free epoxy primer for surface damp or porous concrete and screeds. It is typically used to prime concrete before RonaScreed Self Smooth Screed, for excellent adhesion and minimal pinholing, and on shot or grit blasted steel before Ronafix polymer modified screeds, such as on stair pans.

Application

Prepare the concrete by captive shot blasting or similar to a sound, clean, laitance-free surface with a pull-off strength over 1.5 N/mm²; blast steel to SA 2.5. Add the full B component to the A component and mix with a slow speed drill and MR3 spiral paddle for approx. 3 minutes, transfer to a clean bucket and mix for 1 more minute, then pour out straight away (pot life 15–20 minutes at 20°C). Apply by squeegee and finish with a short or medium nap roller. For screed overlays, broadcast 0.8–1.7 mm kiln-dried sand to refusal into the wet resin, let it cure, vacuum off the excess and protect until the screed is laid. Very porous substrates may need more than one coat. Ideally apply at 15–20°C; minimum 5°C. Check the manufacturer's datasheet before use.

Coverage

0.25–0.30 kg/m² per coat. A 5 kg unit covers approx. 16–20 m² per coat; a 10 kg unit covers approx. 33–40 m² per coat.
