Product Description
RonaScreed Self Smooth Screed is a single component, flow applied wearing and levelling screed for internal and external use, laid from 5 mm to 40 mm in a single application. It is water tolerant, has excellent abrasion resistance and gains strength quickly, taking foot traffic after 4–5 hours and light to medium duty traffic after 24 hours at 20°C. Free from casein, other proteins and ammonia, it is suitable for hospitals and food processing areas.
Key Benefits
Application
The concrete substrate must be sound (min. 25 N/mm² compressive, 0.8 N/mm² pull-off) and vacuum shot blasted, planed or scabbled, following BS 8204-7. Seal and prime with RonaScreed Self Smooth Primer, or for heavy use areas prime with RonaFloor Epoxy Primer MT blinded with 0.8–1.7 mm kiln-dried sand. Mix each 25 kg bag with 3.5–3.7 litres of clean water using a slow speed drill (max. 450 RPM) and MR3 helical paddle, or apply by mixer/pump (Putzmeister SP 11 THF or similar). Pour or pump within 15 minutes of mixing onto the tacky primer, level with a pin rake (it is self smoothing, not self levelling) and spike roll before it gels. Apply at 5–30°C with the material at 15–20°C, relative humidity no lower than 50%, and keep the area free of draughts and direct sunlight for 24 hours. A specialist applicator is recommended. Check the manufacturer's datasheet before use.
Coverage
Approx. 1.7 kg/m² per mm. Per 25 kg bag: approx. 2.94 m² at 5 mm, 1.47 m² at 10 mm, 0.74 m² at 20 mm or 0.37 m² at 40 mm.
