Product Description
Visqueen Gas Barrier is a multi-layer polyethylene membrane providing combined protection against ground gases (radon, methane, and CO₂) and rising damp. BBA certified to BS 8485 and BS 8102, it is designed for use in new-build residential and commercial ground floor constructions where gas and moisture protection is required.
Key Benefits
Application
Lay the membrane across the prepared sub-base or slab with a minimum 150 mm overlap at all joints. Seal all laps using Visqueen double-sided jointing tape. Ensure the membrane is dressed up at walls and penetrations to form a continuous barrier. Take care to avoid puncturing during subsequent construction works.
Coverage
Each roll covers 100 m² (2 m × 50 m). Allow for 150 mm overlaps at all joints when calculating the number of rolls required. For complex floor plans with multiple penetrations, allow approximately 10–15% additional material for waste and lapping.
