Visqueen Radon R400 is a 400 µm polyethylene membrane specifically designed as a radon gas barrier for affected areas. It also functions as a damp-proof membrane, providing dual protection in a single layer. BBA certified (BBA 13/5069) and conforming to BR 211:2023, it is suitable for new-build ground floor constructions in radon-affected zones.

Application

Lay the membrane over the prepared sub-base or concrete slab with a minimum 150 mm overlap at all joints. Seal laps with Visqueen Radon double-sided jointing tape. Dress membrane up walls and around all service penetrations to maintain a continuous radon-tight seal. Protect the installed membrane from puncture during subsequent works.

Coverage

Each roll covers 80 m² (4 m × 20 m). Allow for 150 mm overlaps at all joints when calculating quantities. For complex layouts with multiple penetrations, allow approximately 10–15% additional material for waste and lapping.
