Product Description
Mapei Topcem is a special hydraulic binder used as a direct replacement for Portland cement in traditional sand–cement screed mixes. It dramatically accelerates drying time, allowing floor coverings to be installed in as little as 24 hours instead of the standard 1 mm per day. It also provides controlled shrinkage and high mechanical strength.
Key Benefits
Application
Replace the Portland cement component of the screed mix with Topcem at the same ratio (typically 1 part Topcem to 3–4 parts sand by weight). Add water sparingly — mix should have a semi-dry, earth-moist consistency. Lay, compact and level as per standard screed practice. The screed is walkable in approximately 12 hours and ready for floor coverings from 24 hours at 20°C. Apply at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
Coverage
One 20 kg bag replaces 20 kg of Portland cement. For a typical 4:1 sand–cement screed at 50 mm depth, approximately 20 kg of Topcem covers 4–5 m².
